Getting Involved

We have seen quite a lot of changes as a party over the last few years from when we were in the minority.  We have had to learn to adapt to the challenges and the responsibilities of governing, but in a very short period of time have been able to set an example to the rest of the country.  We have proven that our tried and true conservative republican principles do make a difference.

Holding the Governor’s office and majorities in the state house and state senate, it is easy to take our success for granted and forget about why we do what we do and where we came from.  It is important for us to look back and remember how we got to where we are right now.

The key fundamental component to our success has been everyday citizens who take upon themselves the role, responsibility and burden of protecting and advancing the values that define our party.  At the very core of those values are the respect for life, freedom, independence, limited government and the rule of law.

From the time we declared our independence as a nation, to today with our modern day tea parties, everyday citizens have answered the call and have given of their time, energy, money, blood, sweat and tears to advance and preserve the American Dream for their children and their grandchildren.

Our chairwoman Sue Everhart is a great example of this and would be the first to tell you that our success as a state party has been from the ground up.  She continues to emphasize the necessity for a strong and organized grassroots component to our party.  Our Grassroots leaders and members are the ones actually on the ground living, working and communicating with the citizens or our state.  No amount of money raised can replace boots on the ground.

We now have a target on our backs and the democrats will be coming after us as hard as ever to try and take back power.  As election season approaches we must NOT become complaisant!  We will need good men and women to step up and become engaged.  There are many opportunities for people from every walk of life to be involved, regardless if you are a teenager, college student, senior, or somewhere in between, we need you!
